John Stossel show aired on FOX Business network on May 27th, 2010. It was all about “green energy” and “feel good” things environmentalist want us to do. Overall, I liked this show a lot. It did not change my view on the subject as my opinion is already firmly formed (I am the ‘denier’) but it was worth watching every minute. I broke it down into following parts due to various lengths of its segments: 1) Can we go green? 2) Green gone wrong. 3) Misplaced priorities. 4) “Energy Star” schemes. 5) Questions from the audience and Stossel’s perspective. 6) Delusion of independence, Stossel wins a bet with a billionaire.

Well he’s wrong about the electric cars… Israel, Denmark and Australia are expected to have completed their transition to them by the end of the decade.
Also his energy density figure is not accurate.. it’s more like 30x and with the “Moore’s Law for batteries” being of 5 years u do the math, also you can always swap the batteries like they’re gonna do in those countries that started doing it
I might add that the hybrid and electric cars are really powered by gasoline by slight of hand. You just don’t see the gasoline tank in the hybrid and electric cars. That is because the gas tank is at the electric company where they use a gasoline powered motor to run a 3 phase electric generator.

The presenter is very patronising. He talks to people as though they were primary school children.

@truevoice08 I agree: “we must still blame the government.” The collusion of corporations and government is not a theory…. it’s a fact. So when I say “they” that’s what I mean. This collusion is old news and the lying is rampant. “They” lie so much (through corporate owned media including the above) that one can automatically assume the opposite of what they say with zero research and be right 95% of the time. This is our sick reality and people are finally waking up to this exponentially.
@Probesoul I’m sorry. But if alternative energy was really less costly and more efficient than fossil fuel then we must still blame the government. The government still mandates which technologies can be sold in the market so they are still the ones to blame if alternative energy is truly practicable.
Ask Spain how their green economy is going. All these mainstream green energy solutions are bullshit. Government does suppress technology. We sent a man to the moon 40 fucking years ago and the nazi’s could have done it in the 50′s. They just want to keep the ownership of major resources in the hands of the elite so they can have their global government.

We need to hear this kind of stuff. After all, we can’t do anything if we don’t have the truth as a starting point.
They will always lie to suppress alternative energy sources and technologies…. Ford in the 40s had a car that was made of hemp (you couldn’t dent it with a sledge hammer) and ran on fuel produced from hemp. We have Daniel Dingel’s water car, Stan Meyer’s water buggy, and electric cars have been around for almost 100 years… come on people… stop believing this establishment crap.
