John Stossel – Going Green Part 3 of 6
By GoingEcoGreen on Aug 07, 2010 with Comments 12
John Stossel show aired on FOX Business network on May 27th, 2010. It was all about “green energy” and “feel good” things environmentalist want us to do. Overall, I liked this show a lot. It did not change my view on the subject as my opinion is already firmly formed (I am the ‘denier’) but it was worth watching every minute. I broke it down into following parts due to various lengths of its segments: 1) Can we go green? 2) Green gone wrong. 3) Misplaced priorities. 4) “Energy Star” schemes. 5) Questions from the audience and Stossel’s perspective. 6) Delusion of independence, Stossel wins a bet with a billionaire.

@MrTrilliondollarman LOL… good one
@conservative608 real liberals are for free trade. real classical liberal, not the american socialists who hijacked the word.
I am a little confused. Bjorn is a liberal?! He said he is for free trade. Wow!
Maybe Gore should have spent more time saving his marriage and less on the enviroment.
Why is there such an obsession with helping the world? All these leftists want is to steal your wealth, redistribute it to the poor, and get more power through votes.
And if the candidate doesn’t believe AGW is worth worrying about, I’d like to see him ADMIT it on the campaign trail and have the balls to say, “Stop worrying about AGW. It’s not that big a deal! We’ll live.” I’d say it.
Just once, I’d like to see a candidate put the effects of global warming in perspective and say “The point is what will happen to us, if it’s worth being worried about, NOT whether or not warming has a human cause.” But too many candidates either get caught up in warming hysteria or deny that there’s a human cause. It’s really a mixture these days of humanity AND nature.
Too many folks simply hear the words “global warming” and assume the worst. They don’t put things in perspective, actually asking “How will this affect us? Is it worth whining about?” I don’t really think so. It may have some affect on the poorest countries, but they can avoid the worst by industrializing and seeking wealth like the First World nations. The First World and developing nations on the way to wealth will be fine. They tell us we have to make all these stupid sacrifices.
@4rcane while I disagree with bjorn on global warming, I do believe that if government is to do anything, they should listen to ppl like bjorn and put money into stuff thats on that list. Smarter use of the money
agreed. Alot of environmentalist policy being pushed is an equivalent to spending $1 million to buy a new computer because it has 1% speed improvement to your old computer. They tell us, but we must do it or else we’ll die. I have no problem with spending say a few hundred dollars to get 1% speed improvement, but I can’t agree to the absurd amount thats being advocated. Theres better bang for your buck that could improve human conditions around the world
I love Bjorn. He’s practical. While I disagree with global warming being a bad thing, at least he’s honest that the bulk of the “solutions” are a waste of valuable money that could be spent on far better things to improve the human condition.
Also, a warmer earth is probably a good thing compared to a cooler earth. Think about it, a heck of a lot more people live in warmer climates than in colder ones.
Thumbs up this post if you think Stossel’s stash is LUSH!
