This time look into the claims of the marketers before you place your hard-earned money on the line.</p>

<p>While it is true that many people of Asian descent are small thin people and green tea is produced in Asia, however is that enough to draw the conclusion that tea and weight loss go hand in hand? Not necessarily, but it is not a bad place to start.</p>

<p>Nevertheless, you are probably more interested in some cold facts than loose connections. Fair enough, let us examine some of the claims of it has on weight loss and see if there is any substantial proof to back them up.</p>

<p>Merchants are touting the idea that green tea gives a boost to the metabolism. That is it increases the number of calories you burn without you doing any exercise. While that claim may sound fantastic, some research shows it could be true.</p>

<p>In a study in published in the Journal of Clinical Nutrition it was found that metabolic rate was increased for individuals that received a tea extract. Japanese women who received the concentrate experienced a 10% increase in energy.</p>

<p><strong>Fat Loss</strong></p>

<p>A rise in metabolism is all good and well but what about the claims that it will actually help you lose fat? One possible way that it affects weight loss is in blood sugar stabilization. After you eat the pancreas releases insulin to regulate sugar levels. Sharp spikes in insulin results in fat storage. The catchins in green tea work to regulate blood sugar and therefore decrease insulin release and in turn fat storage.</p>

<p><strong>Appetite</strong></p>
<p>
<p>In addition to all the benefits discussed above is appetite suppression. Researchers at the University of Chicago found that rats injected with the extract consumed 60% less food than they did had before. This is probably another effect of the blood sugar leveling ability of green tea.</p>

<p><strong>Conclusion</strong></p>
<p>
<p>Apparently, from the many studies that have been done, some of which were talked about here, there is evidence that green tea and weight loss go hand in hand. There are many areas affecting weight that green tea has shown promise.</p>

<p>Realistically though do not expect to drink green tea on top of a 4000 calorie diet and expect to lose weight. In fact, while there are many benefits of green tea when it comes to weight loss you should never rely totally on one substance for all your dieting needs. Green tea added to a sensible diet and moderate exercise is your best plan for speedy weight loss.</p>

Well yes it should be but in todays market but the sheer choice of tea is much bigger and for the inexperienced buyer perhaps the best place to start would be a specialist tea seller or a good deli where you can get the right advice about green tea itself.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s hardly surprising that the knowledge we posses about the benefit to our health from drinking tea has been around since the ancient Chinese first discovered tea leaves and started cultivating it commercially. They too recognized this plants unique properties that helped alleviate and treat a multitude of conditions. That situation has not changed and many of us today have re-aquainted ourselves with green tea extract benefits.&#xA0;</p>

<p>Let&#8217;s just touch upon just one of these benefits here and hopefully after this you can do some of your own research simply and just as easily as I did. Well, there&#8217;s been a lot said and written about green tea and weight loss for one. Reports suggest that by drinking green tea our metabolic rate increases substantially, thereby burning calories at a much faster rate, which in turn will shed those unwanted pounds that bit quicker.&#xA0;</p>

<p>Even so, the often quoted advice of eating a balanced diet backed up by some daily exercise remains, like taking a walk. As a side note I also found an excellent, naturally derived nutritional supplement that contains this all important green tea extract. Some of us can&#8217;t always brew a fresh cup of tea as it&#8217;s not always practical, because of the way we work or live. This way I could still manage to derive those health benefits safely, knowing I was taking a step in the right direction. What&#8217;s stopping you from doing the same?</p>

<p><strong>Caffeine</strong></p>

<p>If you read the fine print on green tea metabolism boosters, you will see that results vary.&#xA0; For best results a healthy diet and regular exercise are recommended.&#xA0; If you read the label of ingredients, you will see that caffeine is added to the mix.&#xA0; After all of these years and even though most people consume too much caffeine, anyway, it is still considered an appetite suppressant. <br />&#xA0;<br />Most of the studies concerning green tea and weight loss were conducted using laboratory animals.&#xA0; Logically speaking, it may have been the caffeine that caused the animals to lose weight, because caffeine is something that they do not normally consume.&#xA0; But, there was one recent study concerning green tea and weight loss that involved humans, during exercise.</p>

<p><strong>Study of Green Tea Metabolism</strong></p>
<p>
<p>It was a very small study, consisting only of 11 healthy men, but the results were promising.&#xA0; The volunteers were either given a green tea metabolism booster or a placebo.&#xA0; Fat oxidation was measured after both groups spent 30 minutes on an exercise bike.&#xA0; In the group that was given the real supplement, fat oxidation was higher than in the control group.&#xA0; In other words, the men that got the supplement burned more &#x201C;fat&#x201D; during their workout than those that did not.</p>
<p>
<p>When the results of this study were publicized, many people believed that green tea and weight loss are closely connected.&#xA0; But, there is only limited evidence of this benefit.&#xA0; If you are trying to lose fat, <strong>here&#x2019;s my recommendation.</strong></p>

It seems that numerous bits of research and long term studies have shown it to be of benefit to anyone on a weight loss regime.</p>
<p>In one study, with all other factors being equal, when it was taken as a dietary supplement it was shown to have resulted in a decrease in body fat of the study participants. The clue to why this should be so is in some of the compounds and substances found in green tea itself. We know its rich in potent antioxidants, some much more than even vitamin C and one in particular known as catechin.</p>
<p>This substance has the ability to make our metabolic rate rise at some point after taking the green tea pill. So, as a very rough and ready example if you burn 100 calories climbing some stairs, the effect of the pill may make you burn say, 120 calories when doing exactly the same thing.</p>
<p>The other thing to try and remember is that some bodily movement is still required, so maybe it&#8217;s not what you want to hear if you&#8217;re a dedicated couch potato!</p>
<p>Whatever burns up the fat a bit quicker has to be worthy of a closer look. It&#8217;s a naturally derived product but care needs to taken to ensure that the green tea pills you eventually buy have a high potency and are from a quality producer. Whilst you could probably derive a similar benefit by drinking green tea, some of us might thinks it&#8217;s a hassle that way.</p>

<p>The beverage that I have been used to drinking for a long time now is one that I have never before associated with a way in which to lose weight. But, having a desire to find things out for myself I uncovered some interesting tit-bits of information. This article will look at a selection of them.</p>
